Samaysar

SpacerHorizontalBlack1.gif (44 bytes)

Samaysar, a great piece of devotional and spiritual poetry written by Bhagwan Kundkundacharya, is often called 'the king of scriptures.' Gurudevshri Kaanji Swami used to say about Samaysar, "In writing of this great scripture, Bhagwan Kundkundacharya has done such a great job which can be expected only from Tirthankaras." He had read out the complete Paramagam Samaysar, for as many as 19 times, during the congregations held at his sadhna-bhoomi Songarh (Gujrat) where he stayed for over 45 years. He had a great faith and respect for five paramagamas mentioned in Samayasar which culminated in the development of 'Shri Mahavir Kundkund Digambar Jain Parmagam Mandir' at Songarh. All the five Paramagamas were inscribed on white marble slabs which were fixed on the walls of the temple.

Shri Adinath Kund-kund Kahan Digambar Jain Trust also shares the great respect for the incomparable scripture. As a mark of respect and faith in the grantha and its teachings, the trust has decided that the walls of Vidhinayak Bhagwan Mahavir Temple in the 'Mangalayatan' complex will feature 150 marble panels depicting the original gathas of Paramagam Samaysar in Prakrit script.  Hindi Harigeet and the Hindi translation of Acharya Amrit Chandracharyadev's Sanskrit interpretations will also be inscribed on the panels. Engraving of Samaysar will be carried out in Songarh.

Moksh-marg Prakashak

Gurudevshri used to respect and praise 'Moksh-marg Prakashak', a scripture written by Pt. Todarmalji. He had a high opinion for Pt. Todarmalji also which is evident from what he said from time to time about the great Jain scholar, philosopher and poet. According to Gurudevshri, "Pandit Todarmalji was a great soul. His Moksh-marg Prakashak is an incomparable scripture. Summary of all the great scriptures has been put into this great spiritual work."

Gurudevshri was so impressed by this book that had written some 50 pages of Moksh-marg Prakashak (the entire 7th chapter) by hand. These handwritten pages are still preserved. The walls of Bhagwan Bahubali temple will be adorned with 100 marble panels depicting the seventh chapter (adhikar) of Moksh-marg Prakashak

Chheh-dhala

Shri Adinath Kund-kund Kahan Digambar Jain Trust has decided to distribute copies of the Chheh-dhala, a great peace of spiritual and philosophical poetry to devotees coming to Mangalayatan and Jain scholars, researchers and students who want to carry out further research on it. It is also available on this website for free download.

Chheh-dhala is one of those immortal pieces of religious and spiritual literature which have been written in the recent part of history. It was written by renowned Jain scholar, philosopher and poet Pt. Daulatramji who was a resident of Sasni town, near Aligarh. Incidentally, 'Mangalayatan' pilgrimage centre is being developed on the outskirts of Sasni itself. Literary meaning of Chheh-dhala is a book with six chapters or dhaals. Though a peace of Jain philosophy, it was written in a very simple language so that even a lay man can understand its teachings and benefit from them.

Gurudevshri Kaanji Swami, who had a great respect and liking for  Chheh-dhala, used to call it 'Small Samayasar' and quote extensively from it. As a tribute to Pt. Daulatramji and his works, the trust has decided to inscribe the entire Chheh-dhala on the marble walls of Lord Bahubali temple. This will be a humble effort to make memories of the great scholar.

Jinagamsar

Jinagamsar is a huge compilation of all the important sayings and teachings of the Jain dharma, and their thorough interpretation. The book, highly admired by Jain scholars, mumukshus and believers, is a creation of Sh. Pawan Jain, the Executive Secretary of Shri Adinath Kund-kund Kahan Digambar Jain Trust. Sh. Jain has quoted extensively from more than 100 respectable Jain scriptures such as Samaysar, Gommatsar, Mokshshashtra, Panchadhyayi, Shriniyamsar, Moksh-marg Prakashak, Chheh-dhala and other  pali-prakrit-sanskrit-hindi granthas to explain and interpret the basic principles and philosophy of the Jain dharma. According to Jain Digest, published from USA, Jinagamsar is a huge volume which is more like an encyclopedia on Jainism.

The author, Sh. Pawan Jain is the brain and strength behind the 'Mangalayatan' project. His work will also be made available to the devotees coming to 'Mangalyatan.' It is also available on this site for free download. Those who are engaged in the service of Jainism in one way of another are free to use the scripture in any way they want, provided the originality of the book is kept intact. Wherever it is used, a suitable reference to the work  will be definitely appreciated.
